집 구하기와 자취 — Finding a room, living alone — a lease, the five checks before you sign, rental fraud, asking for repairs and cooking for yourself. Lesson 4 of Level 5B in the Haeyo Korean regular course.
What you will be able to do
- Doubt a plan or a claim you can hardly believe with A/V-(으)려고(요)?: 설마 이 집을 계약하려고요? · 학교 앞에 그렇게 싼 원룸이 있으려고요?
- Say that one thing came hard on the heels of another with V-기가 바쁘게: 계약하기가 바쁘게 집주인이 바뀌었어요. · 월급을 받기가 바쁘게 월세로 다 나가요.
- React while viewing a flat — a gentle 'but actually …' with -는걸(요) and an on-the-spot reaction with -네: 생각보다 비싼걸요. · 방이 좁네. 겨울에 춥겠네.
- Read a lease and the five checks before signing (property register · ID · fixed-date stamp · move-in report · guarantee insurance), ask about special terms, write a repair request — and find where an AI answer about the right to renew differs from the rent-advice centre's
