보고서와 인용 — Reports and citations — writing in the formal -다 style, asking in writing with -는가, and declaring what the AI did. Lesson 8 of Level 5B in the Haeyo Korean regular course.
What you will be able to do
- Write report sentences in the formal -다 style, the way a Korean report does it: 본 보고서는 두 나라의 가족 변화를 비교한다. · 본 보고서는 이 질문에 답하고자 한다.
- Ask a question in writing with -는가 · -(으)ㄴ가 · N인가, as a title or a research question: AI는 학습을 돕는가 · 혼자 사는 사람은 왜 늘고 있는가
- Title a report, lay out its table of contents and open the introduction in four sentences: background · question · aim · order.
- Read a university's generative-AI guideline for what is allowed, conditional and forbidden, quote and cite sources correctly — and check an AI draft, find the reference that does not exist, and fill in an AI-use statement.
Grammar in this lesson
- -다(글말 서술) — the written -다 ending in a report — Lesson 4B-11 again, now with the habits of a report
- -는가 · -(으)ㄴ가 · N인가(글말 의문) — asking in writing — titles and research questions (Lesson 4B-1 expression, now a grammar point)
- 보고서 제목 · 목차 쓰기 — titling a report, laying out its table of contents and opening the introduction — textbook expressions (SNU 5B Lesson 1's headline-and-lead task, turned into a report)
