아프면 바로 병원: 건강보험, 약국, 그리고 안전 문자 — Sick? Go straight to the clinic — health insurance, pharmacies and emergency alerts. Lesson 8 of Real Korean Culture in the Haeyo Korean theme courses.
What you will be able to do
- Use the Korean health system the way students do: walk into a neighbourhood 의원 without an appointment, say what hurts and since when, and collect the medicine next door
- Understand 국민건강보험 for international students (D-2, D-4): who is covered, what you pay yourself, and why a visit costs only a few thousand won
- Read 안전 안내 문자 and a pharmacy text without panic, and know what 119, 112 and 1345 are for
- Reassure a newcomer with -(으)면 되다 and -지 않아도 되다: 동네 의원에 가면 돼요, 예약하지 않아도 돼요
Grammar in this lesson
- 병원에 처음 왔어요 — 접수 · 증상 · 처방전
- 휴대폰에 온 문자 세 통 · -(으)면 되다 / -지 않아도 되다
